Baylor University students are set to perform at the annual After Dark variety show held during Parents Weekend on Friday, Sept. 10.

After Dark started in the early 1980s and has since been a loved tradition throughout the Baylor community. It is presented by Baylor University's department of student productions. Show times will be at 6:30 and 9:30 p.m. in Waco Hall. Tickets are sold for $10, $12, $14 or $16, based on seating.

More than 60 acts auditioned for 15 spots. During the auditions, students were given 10 minutes to set up, perform and tear down their acts. The committee was looking for outstanding talent from singing to dancing to comedy.

"I love that After Dark is full of so many different students from all walks of life and from all over the country. Baylor is an amazing school, and I love that we have productions that will get to showcase the talent we hold," said Kaitlin Sullivan, student productions committee member and senior speech pathology major.

The student productions steering committee is comprised of undergraduate students ranging from psychology majors to film and digital media majors. They are responsible for handling all aspects of After Dark, Pigskin Revue, StompFest and All University Sing productions. They are led by Keith Frazee, student productions coordinator, and graduate apprentice Beth Roller.

"Not only do parents get to see where their student is living and walk the campus, but they get to see the wide variety of talent that Baylor students have. It's a great foreshadowing of what's to come for their student," Sullivan said.

Waco Hall is located at 624 Speight Ave. Auditions can be viewed on the After Dark web page at www.baylor.edu/studentproductions
