Baylor Welcomes March Chapel Speakers

Baylor University's Spiritual Life department hosts Chapel speakers every Monday and Wednesday at 9:05 a.m., 10:10 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. in Waco Hall on the Baylor campus. This month, chapel will present authors, broadcaster and Christian activists.

This month's speakers:

' March 1: Shane Claiborne is known as a prominent activist for nonviolence and service to the poor. Claiborne writes and travels about social justice and Jesus. He is a founding partner of the Simple Way, a faith community in Philadelphia that has helped build and connect radical faith communities around the world.

' March 3: John Bell works within the areas of music and is a minister in Scotland. He writes hymns and occasionally broadcasts on national radio and television.

' March 15: Todd Harper is a founder of Generous Giving that hopes to transform the hearts and minds of God's people for generosity that changes the world. Harper has a bachelor's degree in economics and entrepreneurship from Baylor. He comes from an 11-year career with Campus Crusade for Christ International.

' March 22: Brian D. McLaren is a prominent, voice in the emergent church movement. He was recognized as one of Time,/i> magazine's "25 Most Influential Evangelicals in America" in 2005. He has authored the A New Kind of Christian a trilogy, that deals with Christianity in the context of the cultural shift towards postmodernism.

' March 29: Peter Rollins is the founder of iKon, a faith group known for blending of live music, visual imagery and reflection to create what they call "transformance art." He authored How (Not) to Speak of God.
