Baylor University Law Professor to Focus on Social Work Ethics at Workshop

Dr. Mark Osler of Baylor University Law School will focus on the six ethical principles of the National Association of Social Workers at a Sept. 29 workshop in Waco.
The principles are service, dignity and worth of the person, the importance of relationships, integrity, competence and social justice.
The 12th annual Preston M. Dyer Ethics Workshop is expected to attract more than 200 attendees. Hours will be 1:30-4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 29, at the Region 12 Education Service Center, 2101 W. Loop 340.
Besides a lecture and question-and answer time by Osler, the day will include exercises to aid attendees put the principles in action as they help clients.
The workshop is open to the public, although it is targeted for social workers.
Social workers and licensed professional counselors may earn three continuing education credit hours in ethics by participating in the workshop.
The event is $40; free for Baylor University faculty, staff and students. Registration deadline is Sept. 22.
