Baylor Mourns Death of Adjunct Professor

Terry Brown, an adjunct professor in the department of family and consumer sciences at Baylor, died June 28 from injuries in an auto accident. He was 53. Services were held July 2 at the 3 Horse Ranch near Rosebud, with burial in 3 Horse Ranch Cemetery.

Brown was born Aug. 10, 1954, in Bossier City, La. He graduated in 1977 from Iowa State University with a bachelor's degree in architecture. He earned his master's of architecture degree from Washington University in St. Louis in 1979.

Brown worked for Robert A.M. Stern in New York and Venturi Rauch and Scott Brown in Philadelphia. He was recognized in the "40 Under 40" and published various architectural publications.

A Fulbright Scholar in Vienna, Brown also served as an instructor at Miami University in Ohio, University of Cincinnati and Baylor, teaching an advanced drafting course during the fall and spring semesters. He also raised Texas Longhorns since 1998 and lived in Rosebud since 2005.

Survivors include his wife, Jean Brown of Rosebud; his parents, Walter and Rosie Brown of Sioux City; and two brothers, Scott Brown of Seymour, Ind., and Gary Brown of Houston.
