'User Friendly' People's Law School at Baylor Scheduled for March 1

The People's Law School at Baylor University will return for a third year from 8:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Saturday, March 1. Hosted by Baylor Law School, the one-day, free event is designed to make the law "user friendly" and to educate members of the community about their legal rights.

"The law can sometimes be confusing," said Patricia Wilson, professor of law at Baylor. "The 2008 People's Law School will not answer every question for every specific situation, but it can help you get a grasp on some fundamentals that may help you in your day-to-day personal and business life."

The People's Law School will offer 15 courses on a variety of legal topics. Two new courses on traffic tickets and the judicial process have been added this year. Each People's Law course will be taught by a Baylor law professor or a local attorney. Participants can register for three courses, which will last approximately an hour each.

The People's Law School will be held at the Sheila and Walter Umphrey Law Center on the north side of University Parks Drive on the Baylor campus. Registration ends Feb. 28. For more information, visit law.baylor.edu and select the People's Law School link or call Wilson at (254) 710-6591.
