For the first time, the Executive MBA program (EMBA) at Baylor University's Hankamer School of Business has been named among the best programs in the world by Bloomberg Businessweek's 2011 Executive MBA ranking. Baylor is ranked 37 worldwide, and the program, which includes campuses in Dallas and Austin, also ranked third among programs in Texas.

"We are delighted to receive this international recognition and be ranked so highly by Bloomberg Businessweek," said Terry S. Maness, D.B.A., dean of the Hankamer School of Business. "To our EMBA students, this comes as no surprise. Our executive MBA programs in Dallas and Austin are highly prized by business executives from a wide variety of business and industry."

This latest honor for the EMBA program comes just days after the Financial Times ranked the program 35th in the country for United States-based programs.

"We are among the top programs globally, which reflects not only the quality of our program but the caliber of our students. This is evidence that our curriculum is at the cutting edge of EMBA education internationally. We are passionate about partnering with executives at this significant time in their careers," said Gary Carini, Ph.D., associate dean of Graduate Business Programs at Baylor's Hankamer School of Business.

The 21-month Dallas and Austin programs are based on a learning environment that enriches the classroom because students learn extensively from their peers as well as Baylor's tenured faculty. Students develop a strong sense of ethical considerations and a global perspective, equipping them to tackle complex business environments.

In Dallas, EMBA classes meet every other weekend. Classes in Austin convene Monday and Thursday evenings. Both programs include curriculum trips to Washington, D.C., and a trip to Asia or South America.

In addition to Baylor's existing EMBA program, the Dallas campus in fall 2012 will implement an Executive MBA Program with a concentration in healthcare. This program, for medical and administrative personnel, will equip leaders to make significant contributions to their healthcare organizations.

The Baylor Executive MBA Program in Dallas is located at the Cooper Aerobics Center, 12230 Preston Road.

The Baylor Executive MBA Program in Austin is located at 7700 West Parmer Lane in Austin. A new campus, located at 3107 Oak Creek Drive (at the intersection of Parmer and MoPac), will open for the spring semester In January 2012.

The EMBA ranking is based on two surveys--one of EMBA graduates and a poll of EMBA directors. Using email addresses supplied by the programs participating in the ranking, Bloomberg Businessweek contacted graduates and asked them to complete a survey on teaching quality, career services, curriculum, and other aspects of their experience. The results of the 2011 survey were then combined with those from two previous surveys (2009 and 2007) for a student survey score that contributes 65 percent of the final ranking. To complete the ranking, the director of each program participating in the ranking was asked for his or her top 10 programs.
