Mauri entered Baylor's graduate program in the fall of 2013. She graduated summa cum laude from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor's degree in political science in 2009, and magna cum laude from Liberty University with a Master's degree in theological studies in 2013. In 2010, Mauri interned with The Heritage Foundation in Washington, D.C., in the DeVos Center for Religion & Civil Society. At Heritage, Mauri learned how much she enjoyed studying the relationship between religion and politics, the effects of public politics on American families, the bridge between social and economic policy issues, and the importance of America's constitutional principles, all of which Mauri will continue to study during her time at Baylor.
