James entered the PhD program in the fall of 2010. His areas of interest are American politics, constitutional law, and political theory. James' past work experience includes serving as a foreign policy and national defense aide to then-Senator John Ashcroft, running for public office in his native state of Oklahoma, and managing Baylor University's governmental relations. Most recently, he has owned a small business and developed the legal structure of the Wilberforce and Lincoln Center, a nonprofit devoted to informing religious organizations about public policy issues. Odom and his wife, Wendy, have a 20-month old son named Isaac who exercises judicial review over the acts of the Odom household.
