POD Mission and Core Goals
Our mission is:
The mission of the department of Professional & Organizational Development, (POD), is to support Baylor in accomplishing her mission by make Baylor a better place to work and a place where people can do better work. We accomplish our mission by working with other Baylor departments to provide an array of professional development opportunities including new employee orientation (W.O.W.), professional development workshops, lunch and learn opportunities, professional development grants, and a library of books and videos that can be checked out for self-paced learning. We also provide organizational development services for departments upon request.
Our Core Goals are:
- To help Baylor develop a skilled, informed, motivated workforce by providing professional development/training opportunities and performance improvement tools for staff and faculty in a variety of media.
- To provide organizational development consulting that helps work units accomplish their goals.
- To promote continuous improvement of administrative processes and service throughout the univeristy.
- To be good stewards of POD resources (time, money, energy) by instituting efficient POD processes and using the POD budget wisely.
- To provide excellent service to POD constituents.
- To attract, retain and develop an excellent POD staff by providing an enjoyable, challenging work environment; ample professional development; and reasonable work/life balance.
