Parents

August 2009

Dear Piper Parents,

Welcome to the Piper Center for Family Studies and Child Development! We are excited and look forward to partnering with you and your family in supporting your child's development. It is our desire that by you joining our Piper family, there is a sense that Piper is a special place first of all because children are present. Second, because passion, joy, hope, dialogue, stories, wonder, and possibilities abound. We strive for excellence in every area as a Christian environment for all to flourish and grow.

Piper is currently working on the National Academy of Early Childhood Education (NAEYC) self study to become accredited. Our parents will be directly involved in this process by completing a survey that is turned into the academy. Much of the information in this Parent Handbook will be reflected in the survey.

Our goal is to provide an exemplary learning environment for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers; teacher preparation, and child development observation and research. Our center is licensed by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services of the State of Texas.

We are family here at Piper and your child is part of our family and therefore we serve families, not children alone. Because families are an integral part in the lives of children, your input and needs are important aspects of our program. Parent interaction and participation are a strong component of our program to insure enduring relationships between parent and child.

Please contact us at (254) 710-4373 for further information or suggestions.

Thank you for choosing Piper for your child's early childhood learning experiences. We honor your trust and support of our program.
With warmest regards,

Barbara B. Crosby, Ed S
