Two Philosophy Graduate Students Receive Award

April 15, 2009

Lewis Pearson and Joel Schwartz are two of the three recipients of an Outstanding Student Instructor Award for 2009. This award is given to Baylor graduate students who serve as Teachers of Record and who are recognized for their outstanding teaching by students and faculty. Joel and Lewis were selected by a committee of graduate faculty and graduate students as one of Baylor's outstanding teachers based on recommendations from supervising faculty, evaluations and recommendations from their students, their teaching philosophy, and their participation in professional teaching development.

At a Graduate Council Meeting and Luncheon on Friday, April 3, 2009 in the Baines Room at the Bill Daniel Student Center, they will be recognized by the Graduate School and presented with their award, a plaque and the opportunity to attend 29th International Lilly Conference on College Teaching. This year's conference will be held November 19-22, 2009 at Miami University in Oxford, OH. Congratulations to Lewis and Joel!
