Installation

1. PC - Can I close the "Install PawPrints Printers" program once I see the message "The command completed successfully"?
No! The installation window will close on its own when it is finished. We've seen the installer take anywhere from 20 seconds to 15 minutes. Please be patient and let it do its thing. Fortunately, you only need to install PawPrints once... your entire time at Baylor!

2. PC - I'm seeing error 53 and can't install the printers
Error 53 is the result of restrictive network settings on Windows machines. To resolve the error, use the guide at the appropriate link below to change your network type to Work (Windows 7) or enable "Yes, turn on sharing and connect to devices" (Windows 8)

Windows 8 - Turn Sharing On/Off
Windows 7 - Change Network Location Type

If your computer's network settings still restrict access to PawPrints, check out our great new feature called "Web Print" that will allow you to print without ever having to install a printer! Just upload your PDF or Office document(s) to the campus queues and release your print job next time you're near a printer. See link below for details.

3. PC - Nothing happens when I type my password in the printer installation window
Just type it in normally and press enter. It's accepting your keystrokes, even if it looks like it isn't! That's just a default security setting designed to prevent anyone watching from knowing how many characters are in your password.

4. PC - The "Install PawPrints Printers" program says login failure or error 1219.
The username you enter must begin with BAYLOR. Also verify that your name and password were entered correctly. There is no harm in quitting the app and trying again.

5. PC - Printer installation says "Windows cannot find 'PPinstaller.exe'" or "Windows cannot find 'client-local-installer.exe'."
You must FIRST right click on the downloaded .zip folder and uncompress it. Or, you may select "Extract all" when prompted. Install the app and printers from the new uncompressed folder.

6. PC - Why are the printers greyed out and say "Offline"?
Your PC's firewall is set to not trust our network printers. To resolve the issue, use the guide at the appropriate link below to change your network type to Work (Windows 7) or enable "Yes, turn on sharing and connect to devices" (Windows 8)

Windows 8 - Turn Sharing On/Off
Windows 7 - Change Network Location Type

If your computer's network settings still restrict access to PawPrints, check out the Web Print feature, which allows you to print without ever having to install a printer! Just upload your PDF or Office document(s) to the campus queues and release your print job next time you're near a printer. See link below for details.

7. Mac - Nothing happens when I launch the PawPrints app.
Make sure you are on Airbear. When you first launch the app, it asks you to login, and you must be online to do this.

8. Mac - Why does the PawPrints app bounce a few times in the dock and then disappear without launching?
The PawPrints app can only be run on OS X 10.7 and later. Mac OS X 10.6 and below are not supported. To check which version of Mac OS X you have, click the Apple in the top-left of your screen and select "About This Mac".

9. Mac - How do I fix this error: PawPrints.pkg can't be opened because it is from an unidentified developer?
The default security settings on newer Macs blocks the installation of apps downloaded from the Internet. To change this setting navigate to System Preferences > Security & Privacy and set "Allow applications downloaded from:" to Anywhere. You can revert this setting after installing PawPrints if you wish.
