Reporting Misconduct/Ethics/EthicsPoint

July 1, 2012

Standards of conduct for students, faculty, and staff of Baylor University are found in the Student Policies and Procedures and in the Faculty and Staff Policies and Manuals. The Personnel Policy Manual states: "Employees of Baylor University are expected to conduct themselves and their affairs in an ethical and moral manner that is a positive reflection on Baylor and consistent with the stated Christian aims and mission of the University." The University's Baylor EthicsPoint webpage:

"Baylor University has selected EthicsPoint to provide students, employees, and others with ways to anonymously and confidentially report activities that may involve criminal, unethical, or otherwise inappropriate behavior in violation of Baylor University's policies."

The report may be made through the above webpage or by calling toll free at 866-384-4277.

The categories for reporting are listed on the webpage, and those categories are: Financial Matters; Athletics; Risk or Safety Matters; Human Resources; Research Matters; Conflict of Interest; and Other (if the matter fits none of the above). The webpage goes on to state that Baylor guarantees that reports submitted via EthicsPoint will be handled promptly and discreetly, and no retaliatory action will be taken against anyone for reporting or inquiring in good faith about potential breaches of Baylor's policies or for seeking guidance on how to handle suspected breaches.
