Since 2006, Vivian Gamblian has taught at the Baylor University Louise Herrington School of Nursing. She is the Coordinator of Simulation and is also a Senior Lecturer. Mrs. Gamblian received her Master of Science in Nursing from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Ft. Hays State University in Hays, Kansas. Mrs. Gamblian has also pursued post graduate studies at the University of Cincinnati.

Vivian Gamblian has over 35 years of experience teaching and practicing nursing. Before coming to Baylor, Mrs. Gamblian taught at Collin County Community College in McKinney, Texas and at other various hospitals. Her clinical expertise is in perioperative and maternal-child nursing. She has served in hospitals throughout the country from Kansas and Ohio to Texas. For the past 15 years, Mrs. Gamblian has been involved in international nursing activities in Africa, Central America, and Asia.

Mrs. Gamblian is also a member of many professional organizations: Association for Women’s Health, Obstetrics, and Neonatal Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau, Society for simulation in healthcare (SSH), and the International nursing and clinical simulation learning. In 2014, she was named by the National League for Nursing as a National “Simulation Leader." She was nominated as a 2012 Elsevier Exceptional Nursing Educator. In 2006, she was awarded as Outstanding Nurse for Patient Advocacy from AWHONN. She was also nominated as Outstanding Nurse of the Year at Miami Valley Hospital in both 1989 and 1990.

As a leader in the nursing profession, Mrs. Gamblian has presented to nursing and professional audiences in dozens of locations across the globe. She is a frequent regional, national and international speaker on topics involving High Fidelity Patient Simulation, Perinatal Care and Nursing Education. Mrs. Gamblian has also authored many textbook chapters in works such as Primary Women’s Health Care, All Things Nursing, Fluids and Electrolytes Made Incredibly Easy.
