Dr. Faucher is a certified nurse-midwife who has been practicing midwifery or working in women's health in the Dallas community for 25 years. She received 2 master's degrees from Columbia University, in New York City, a Master of Science and a Master of Public Health. Her doctorate is in health behavior and education from Texas Women's University. She is a tenured associate professor and coordinator of the nurse-midwifery major. Her research interests and publications cover a wide variety of women's health and midwifery issues including obesity and gestational weight gain, cardiovascular health and prevention in woman and delayed umbilical cord clamping. Dr. Faucher is an associate editor of the Journal of Midwifery and Women's Health and regularly contributes to the Review of Literature column in that journal. Mary Ann continues to work in clinical practice at Parkland Hospital.
