Dr. Renee Flippo is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the Baylor University Louise Herrington School of Nursing (LHSON). Her teaching responsibilities include the courses: Clinical and Lab Coordinator; Introduction to Professional Lab Practice; Clinical Faculty and Professional Nursing Practice: Childrearing; DNP Committee Chair and LHSON Graduate Faculty.

Her most current research focused on Reduction of 30-day Preventable Pediatric Readmission Rates with Post-Discharge Phone Calls Utilizing a Patient- and Family- Centered Care Approach, and was recently published in the Journal of Pediatric Health Care.

Prior to LHSON Dr. Flippo was an Assistant Professor, and the Program Director for the Healthy Grandparent and Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Programs at Georgia Regents University (GRU) in Augusta, Georgia. While at GRU she also served as Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Concentration Coordinator, Assistant Professor and Instructor in the Department of Biobehavioral Nursing.

Over the years Dr. Flippo has served on University committees including: Community Outreach Services Committee and Academic Mission Strategic Planning Focus Group at Georgia Regents University.

Her service on nursing committees at Georgia Regents University have included: CONITAC (Technology Committee) member; DNP/NP Transition Leadership Task Force; DNP Program Committee; member of Undergraduate Programs Committee; member of Biobehavioral Nursing Advisory Committee; Chair, Undergraduate Admissions Committee; member, Undergraduate Admissions Committee; member, Nursing Faculty Practice Group Bylaws Committee

Dr. Flippo is very involved in giving back through scientific and professional societies and community activities. She is a current member of the National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties; National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners and was a member of Sigma Theta Tau, Beta Omicron Chapter.

In addition, some of her past participation has included: panelist/speaker at Rivers of Justice 2015 (Juvenile Sex Trafficking) conference in Evans, GA; Volunteer/Medical Consultant, I-care4 Organization (Prevention/Protection of Exploited Women and Children; Annual Guest Lecturer to 9th grade female students at Westminster Schools of Augusta on Adolescent High Risk Behaviors; Participant in Annual Lobby Day at the Georgia State Capital; Faculty Counselor, Beta Omicron/Sigma Theta Tau and Participant in CSRA Asthma Symposium for the Richmond County Health Department.

Dr. Flippo currently maintains a faculty practice as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in the Fast Track ER at Children’s Medical Center of Dallas, and is very involved in her local church reaching out to young adults and those in the West End area of Dallas.
