Director, Baylor Women's Network
Virginia Ellis serves as Director of the Baylor Women's Network. She graduated from Baylor with an Education Degree and has a Master's Degree in Academic Advising. She spent 8 years teaching in the classroom in the Midway Independent School District. She received the Showcase of Stars Teacher award on two occasions and was awarded the Golden Apple Award from KWTX-TV. She was also chosen Teacher of the Year for her school. She then moved in 2005 to a position in the Hankamer School of Business Graduate Programs office and from there went to the Undergraduate Advising Office where she served as an advisor for seven years.
As Director of the Baylor Women's Network, Virginia facilitates groups for Baylor-related women in various cities across the state and around the nation.
The Baylor Women's Network welcomes all alumnae, friends, wives of Baylor alumni and mothers of Baylor students to participate in local programs as well as campus events. The Baylor Women's Network nurtures Baylor friendships among women in their home communities through social events, promotes participation in community service projects and raises funds to provide scholarships for Baylor students.
Virginia and her husband, Joe, have three Baylor Bears of their own. Their oldest son, Tyler, received his Bachelor's degree in Film, Digital Media and Art in 2009 and his Master's in Communications in 2011. Eric, their second son, received his Bachelor's degree in Communications in 2012, and their daughter, Chandler, is currently an Elementary Education major. The Ellis' are longtime active members of First Baptist Church of Woodway,Texas.
