Senior Lecturer in Jazz Studies

ALEX PARKER serves as the director of the Baylor Jazz Ensemble, the Baylor Concert Jazz Ensemble, jazz combos, jazz string quartet and he teaches undergraduate and graduate students in several jazz disciplines. Mr. Parker holds a Master of Music degree from the University of Miami at Coral Gables and a Bachelor of Music degree from the Eastman School of Music. His background is in jazz writing, jazz performance and jazz pedagogy, as well as trumpet performance and instrumental teaching. ~ MORE...

MICHAEL N. JACOBSON joined the Baylor faculty in 1984, and is currently Professor of Saxophone and Music Technology. He holds degrees from Arizona State University (Bachelor of Music in Theory and Composition, and Jazz Performance); Indiana University (Master of Music in Saxophone Performance); and the University of Texas at Austin (Doctor of Musical Arts in Performance with a Jazz Emphasis). ~ MORE...
