COLLAGE RETURNS TO CENTER STAGE AT WACO HALL
Ten years after the first Collage concert electrified a sold-out audience, and five years after the second Collage concert dazzled the audience anew, the Baylor University School of Music presents its gala sequel, Collage3. Like its acclaimed predecessors, this event promises to be a non-stop kaleidoscope of musical talent, presented by young artists from every division in the School. Collage3 will be presented on Saturday, January 25, beginning at 8:00 p.m. in Waco Hall on the Baylor campus.
Dictionaries define a "collage" as an assembly of diverse fragments or a work having disparate scenes in rapid succession without transitions. Baylor's Collage is just that, a grand concert featuring all of the musical resources within the School of Music—student orchestras, bands, choirs, small ensembles, and soloists—displayed in a single evening and combined into one performance "in rapid succession without transitions." Waco Hall will be transformed into multiple stages, and members of the audience will be treated to a whirlwind of musical excellence, as their attention turns from stage to stage, performer to performer, without pause.
Among the myriad of Baylor groups will be the Wind Ensemble, A Cappella Choir, Trombone Choir, VirtuOSO, Baylor Symphony Orchestra, Jazz Ensemble, and Grand Chorus. Other student musicians will include clarinetist Daniel Malacon, violinists David Song and Sara Rodríguez, violist Rebecca Ward, cellists Romina Monsanto and Adrienne Steely, organist Chohee Kim, folk fiddler Mia Orosco, trumpeters Ben Hauser and David Sayers, hornist Matt Reynolds, trombonist Stephen Farrell, tubist Zach Bridges, tenor Bille Bruley, pianist Alexander Kostadinov, flutist Sarah Saenz, and percussionists Tristan Boyd, Ben Cureton, Taylor Davis, and Stephen Seymour.
General admission tickets are $25, and proceeds will benefit students and programs in the Baylor University School of Music.
