Repertoire Highlights

Baylor Symphony

The Baylor Symphony programs standard repertoire as well as works by outstanding emerging composers. Symphonies by Mozart, Haydn, Beethoven, Berlioz, Mendelssohn, Brahms, Schumann, Dvorak, Tchaikovsky, Bruckner, Mahler, Prokofiev, Sibelius and Shostakovich and standard works by Strauss, Ravel, Bartok, Copland, Adams, Theofanidis and others are well represented in the five year cycle of planned repertoire. Additionally, the Symphony demonstrates a commitment to its home institution by championing the works of Baylor composers, especially Composer-in-Residence Scott McAllister and deserving Baylor University student composers. The orchestra is a frequent collaborator with Baylor Choral Organizations, the Baylor Opera Theater and Baylor artist faculty performers. The Baylor Symphony has also presented concerts for area children annually since 1946.
