DINAH MENGER has been named to a one-year position as Visiting Lecturer in Ensembles at Baylor University, where she will direct three of the School of Music's choral groups-Women's Choir, Chamber Singers and VirtuOSO. Prior to coming to Baylor, Ms. Menger served eighteen years as Director of Choirs at Arlington High School, overseeing 350 students in 9 performing ensembles, 2 assistants and 3 voice instructors. She is currently pursuing a Master of Music degree in Choral Conducting from Texas State University. She received her Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Arizona, where she was recognized as a distinguished graduate. Ensembles under her direction have performed at the 2007 and 2013 national American Choral Directors Association conventions, as well as the 2005 and 2009 Texas Music Educators Association conventions. The Chamber Singers from Arlington High were invited, through the Kurt Weill Foundation, to perform at Carnegie Hall in April of 2013. Ms. Menger currently serves as the Vocal Vice President of the Texas Music Educators Association and is the current President of the Texas Music Adjudicators Association. She was on the UIL Prescribed Music List Committee for the 2007-2011 PML and served as chair of this committee until 2012. Ms. Menger received the Distinguished Arlington High Alumna Award in 2007, a Lifetime Member Award from the Parent-Teacher Association in 2000 and the AWARE Foundation Secondary Teacher of the Year for the Arlington Independent School District in 1998.
