2008 Student Honors

Each year, in a fitting climax to the spring semester, the School of Music recognizes outstanding accomplishments among its students. In an annual program that provides roughly equal amounts of suspense and joy, faculty representatives step to the microphone and announce the names of winners -- those who has been deemed worthy of the School's highest accolades, whether on stage or in the classroom. Following an exciting performance by last year's Presser Award winner, organist Brent Stamey, the 2008 Honors Convocation opened on April 22 with some words of welcome from Dean William May. And then it was time for the coveted awards. "The envelope, please."
