Dr. Alfredo Colman
Assistant Professor of Musicology/Ethnomusicology

ALFREDO C. COLMAN (Ph.D. The University of Texas at Austin, 2005) is an assistant professor in musicology/ethnomusicology. He is a Latin Americanist with a strong interest in the academic and traditional musical repertoires of Paraguay and other Latin American countries, as well as in liturgical music from Colonial Latin America. From the spring of 2001 to the fall of 2002 Dr. Colman served as professor of music at the Ateneo Paraguayo in Asunción and at the Universidad Evangélica del Paraguay in San Lorenzo, where he returns periodically to teach courses and seminars at the School of Music. ~ More...

Dr. JANN COSART is the author of The Monophonic Tropes and Conductus of W1 (A-R Editions); and has published articles in Early Music, Proceedings of the Conference on Early Music in Higher Education, and Early Music America Bulletin. Her research interests include the investigation, employment and pedagogy of historical performance practice in all periods; archival, paleographic and musicological study of historical manuscripts; the preparation of editions and new music for medieval music performance; and, as an overarching scholarly ethos, the synthesis of research and performance across historical epochs. ~ More...

Dr. Robin Wallace
Professor of Musicology

Dr. ROBIN WALLACE received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Oberlin College, where he studied piano with Thomas Simons and Leon Bates. He holds a Master of Philosophy and a Doctor of Philosophy in Music History from Yale University. He is the author of Beethoven's Critics (Cambridge University Press, 1986), a widely praised, groundbreaking study of the critical reception of Beethoven's music, and is co-editor and translator for the series The Critical Reception of Beethoven's Compositions by his German Contemporaries. ~ More...

Dr. Laurel Zeiss
Associate Professor of Musicology

LAUREL E. ZEISS teaches classes in Baroque and Classical music, opera literature, and research methods and bibliography to music majors and graduate students, music appreciation to non-majors, and music literature to music minors. In both 2004 and 2006, Dr. Zeiss was nominated by the Baylor University School of Music faculty and students for an excellence in teaching award. ~ More...
