FacultyWiff Rudd Mr. Rudd received music degrees from Baylor University (BME) and the University of Northern Colorado (MM). He served as Assistant Professor of Music at Oklahoma Baptist University for seven years and performed regularly with the Oklahoma Symphony Orchestra. Mr. Rudd toured internationally for eight years with the Dallas Brass and is a founding member (1993) of Rhythm & Brass, an international touring/recording chamber ensemble. ~ More... Jeffrey Powers Mr. Powers brings extensive experience in performing and teaching to his duties at Baylor University. He played fulltime professionally and internationally in symphony orchestras for twenty-three years. Having begun his career as second horn in the Hong Kong Philharmonic, Mr. Powers then served as second horn in the New Jersey Symphony, fourth horn in the Philharmonic of Caracas, Venezuela, and fourth horn and Wagner tuba in the Cleveland Orchestra under Lorin Maazel and Christoph von Dohnanyi. ~ More... Brent Phillips Brent Phillips has been the Assistant Professor of Trombone at Baylor University since the fall of 2004. Currently Mr. Phillips is the principal trombonist of the Waco Symphony and is also principal trombone of the Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra in Pennsylvania. As trombonist with the "President's Own", Mr. Phillips has gained extensive experience as a soloist. He has been featured with the Marine Band Chamber Orchestra playing the Concerto for Alto Trombone and Orchestra by Johann Albrechtsberger and has been a frequent soloist with the Marine Band during the summer concert series on the National Mall and Wolf Trap Farm Park in Northern Virginia. ~ More... Dr. Kent Eshelman Dr. KENT ESHELMAN is Baylor University's newly appointed Assistant Professor of Tuba/Euphonium. Prior to joining the Baylor music faculty, he served as Lecturer in Tuba and Euphonium at Northern Arizona University. Before that, he was Visiting Instructor of Tuba and Euphonium at Western Kentucky University, and Adjunct Professor of Tuba and Euphonium at Grand Valley State University. He holds the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Tuba Performance from Michigan State University, a Master of Music degree in Tuba Performance from the University of Wisconsin, and a Bachelor of Music degree in Tuba Performance and a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Jazz Studies-Piano from the University of Michigan. ~ More... |
