10th Annual Medical Humanities Retreat
"Loving God and Neighbor: the Vocation of Medicine"
When: Feb. 6-7, 2009
Where: Camp Allen, Navasota, TX
(approx. 2 hrs. from Baylor Campus)
Keynote Speaker: The Rev Dr. Henry Strobel, Associate Dean of UT-Houston Medical Center
Speakers: Dr. Lauren Barron, Local Family Medicine Specialist and Adjunct Faculty; Linda Bostwick, RN; Dr. Jay Campbell-Retinal Specialist; Dr. Michael Attas
The cost of the entire weekend is $20...an unbeatable bargain!! We are limited to 55 students on a first come, first serve basis. This covers all meals and activities from Friday evening and Saturday until 5:30 PM, and your t-shirt. Transportation will be provided by Baylor University (Central Texas Trails); no personal transportation will be allowed and no one will be allowed to leave Camp Allen, once there. We will gather at 2:45pm at the Ferrell Center and depart at 3:00 PM on Friday, Feb., 6 and return after supper at 5:30 PM on Sat., Feb 7. If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Rosie Padilla (710-2065). If interested, please come by the Medical Humanities Office, rm. D-108 and bring your cash or check by the office and sign a "Participant Release" form, which everyone will need to sign and date before going to the retreat. If paying by check, please make checks payable to Baylor University. Please register and pay early since there are only limited 55 seats available and we can only take registrations until January 29, 2009.
AGENDA for 2009 Spring Retreat at Camp Allen-Navasota, TX:
1) Friday Feb. 6, 2009 evening will begin at 5:00pm. (dinner served at 6:00pm,)
2) Saturday, Feb. 7, 2009 morning will begin at 9:00am. (breakfast served)
3) Saturday, Feb. 7, 2009 lunch will be served at 12:00pm.
4) Saturday, Feb. 7, 2009, dinner served at 5:30pm.
5) After dinner, everyone dismissed following closing worship. (back on bus for return)
This retreat promises to be another time of fellowship, learning, and renewal as each of you continues in your premedical or other pre-health care journey.
