Educational Opportunities: Any student who is considering a premedical journey will benefit from this program by giving them an insight of spirituality of arts and sciences of medicine and providing them an understanding of the human experience and the value of human life between physicians and their patients.

Testimonials: "The Medical Humanities Program gave me an opportunity to study what I love-medicine-but from a broader perspective. Prior to being inundated with the sciences in medical school, I was able to take the time to enjoy classes in philosophy and literature that incorporated a look at the human experiences of pain, suffering, and healing. Learning to incorporate these experiences into my paradigm of medicine will undoubtedly enhance my training as a physician." Mark Geyer, medical student at Baylor College of Medicine.

"Medical school is a strenuous challenge both mentally and emotionally. If I had not had the opportunity while at the undergraduate level to reconcile in my mind the art and the science of medicine, I would have floundered under the competition and academic pressures of medical school. The medical humanities program helped lay a foundation for how and why I want to practice medicine." Sarah Davis, medical student at Southwestern Medical School.
