Baylor > Medical Humanities > WELCOME LETTER

On behalf of the Baylor administration, faculty, staff, and local physicians who interact with our premedical students, I would like to introduce you to an exciting and truly unique opportunity for the undergraduate education of students entering the health care field vocations. This course prepares students who plan to enter a healthcare profession in any capacity by providing an understanding of the human experience and by focusing on the value of human life. It embarks into the insight of the spirituality of art and sciences of medicine. This program not only broadens the young mind to faith, but to spiritual learning, and healing, which will assist in our future caregivers and healthcare professions.

Medical Humanities is an interdisciplinary field that incorporates the insights of the humanities, including literature, fine arts, philosophy, ethics, psychology, history, law, economics, sociology, and religion, into the practice of the modern scientific medicine.
