Baylor University To Continue Emergency Notification Systems Test on Friday, April 22
Baylor University will continue the testing of its outdoor public address and indoor voice evacuation systems beginning at 1 p.m. Friday, April 22. The university conducted a partial test Thursday.
The public is being notified so that the test will not be confused with an actual emergency.
The indoor test will include:
- All residence halls
Baylor Sciences Building
Hankamer School of Business
Moody Library
Draper/Burleson/Old Main
McMullen Faculty Dining
East parking Garage
Sid Richardson
Floyd Casey Stadium and the tennis complex
The outdoor and indoor systems are part of the university's overall emergency preparedness effort. In the event of an actual emergency, the systems can immediately be activated to communicate evacuation information to the campus. The systems are tested at regular intervals to ensure they are in full working order.
The periodic testing should last about 20 minutes.
Questions about the test of the emergency notification systems can be directed to the Office of Risk Management at (254) 710-4586.
