Alumni Golden Wave Band to Perform Sept. 16

Alumni from the Baylor University Golden Wave Marching Band will return to Baylor to perform at the halftime show of the Baylor/Mississippi State University football game at 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 16, in Floyd Casey Stadium.
The theme of the 10th annual meeting of the alumni band is "Dust off Your Boots and Tie on Your Bandanna." The alumni band will be playing in a joint performance with the 1995 Golden Wave Marching Band and 400 students from 13 Waco Independent School District elementary schools.
The band will have breakfast, rehearsal and a business meeting Saturday morning and have lunch at Redwood Shelter in Cameron Park.
Serving as president of this year's alumni band is 1986 graduate Wende McNew Hawthorne of Forney, Texas. Directing the bands will be Jerry Luckhardt, assistant professor and associate director of bands at Baylor. This year's honorary director will be Dr. Jerry Johnson, professor and chair of marketing at Baylor, who has been the "Voice of the Golden Wave Marching Band" for 21 years.
