Baylor Names Three New Recruitment Officers

August 24, 1995

Baylor University's Office of Recruitment has named two new admissions counselors and a new Parent's League coordinator in preparation for the fall recruitment season.
David Kincaid and Paula Abernathy, both 1995 Baylor graduates, will be responsible for recruiting prospective students in their hometown areas of Fort Worth and Tyler, respectively, in addition to several out-of-state areas.
Having just graduated from Baylor, Kincaid and Abernathy hope to share some of their recent experiences with high school seniors interested in applying to Baylor.
"We tend to look for young graduates who have had a positive experience at Baylor," said Teri Tippit, acting director for the Office of Recruitment. "It is definitely a great asset to have alumni willing to share their Baylor experiences."
Kincaid worked with the Office of Recruitment as a student through Student Foundation. "I got the chance to do some traveling and really enjoyed it," he said.
Abernathy has been involved with the Office of Recruitment through her family's participation in Parent's League. "Being a recruiter is something I have always wanted to do," she said.
Rachelle Sheffield, a 1992 Baylor graduate, has been named the new coordinator of Parent's League. Parent's League is designed to keep parents involved with their children's education.
Sheffield has experience working with parents of children who go overseas as missionaries through the Highland Baptist Church missionary program. As coordinator of Parent's League, she will be responsible for Parent's League rallies, send-off parties, membership drives, and the annual membership mail-out.
"This is the first time we have designated one person to work exclusively on these responsibilities," Tippit said. Previously, one of the admissions counselors handled all Parent's League activities in conjunction with other recruitment responsibilities.
