Baylor to Host 2 Student Council Workshops in July

July 3, 1995

Baylor University will host two workshops, July 10-14 and July 24-28, for the Texas Association of Student Councils (TASC) on the Baylor campus.
Approximately 300 senior high school students from throughout the state of Texas will attend the first workshop.
Once the students arrive at Baylor, they will be divided into smaller groups to simulate a college student council. Students will elect officers and carry out the duties of a student representative.
Beverly Kauffmann, director of conventions for TASC, said the workshop helps "instill leadership skills in the young leaders."
All students attending the workshop will stay in on-campus residence halls and eat in the cafeterias.
TASC holds workshops like the one at Baylor at 13 other universities in Texas to serve as many interested high school students as possible, Kauffmann said.
Judy McClain of Lorena High School is director of the Baylor workshops.
