Baylor Handbell Choir To Perform Holiday Music Dec. 4

The Baylor University Handbell Choir will present "A Concert of Music for Thanksgiving and Christmas" at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 4, in Recital Hall II, located adjacent to the lobby of Waco Hall. The ten-member ensemble performs under the direction of David W. Music, professor of church music.
The program will open with "Hymns of Thanksgiving," which will include the Bach setting of Johann Crnger's "Now Thank We All Our God," the Bob Burroughs' setting of "Doxology for Bells" by Louis Bourgeois and Douglas Wagner's arrangement of "With Thankful Hearts." The handbell choir will follow with the familiar Christmas Concerto of Italian master, Arcangelo Corelli as arranged by Wallace Hornibrook.
The program will conclude with "Songs and Carols from Many Lands." The choir will perform the Martha Lynn Thompson arrangement of Paul Manz's setting of "Now Sing We, Now Rejoice" (Germany), the Hart Morris arrangement of "Sing Hosannas" (Poland), Cynthia Dobrinski's arrangement of the familiar "Ukrainian Bell Carol Fantasy" (Ukraine), her arrangement of Irving Berlin's "White Christmas" (U.S.) and an arrangement by Patricia A. Sanders of "Deck the Halls" (Wales).
