Baylor University Bookstore will celebrate Homecoming by hosting various alumni authors Friday, Nov. 7, at 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 8, from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. Thirteen authors will be available to visit, sign books and share with interested readers about their different literary works. Baylor University Press also will be present to promote several featured titles.
Marjorie Coppack, author of "Wrestling With Angels," will be the only author present Friday evening. Saturday's authors will include Dr. William Baker, Dr. David Garland, Dr. Diana Garland, Dr. Greg Garrett, Dr. Barry Hankins, Charles Hurst, Dr. David Lyle Jeffrey, Gene Mendel, Kay Wheeler Moore, Dr. Roger E. Olson, Dr. Terrill Saxon, Grant Teaff and Dr. Ralph Wood.
"As the tradebook manager here at Baylor, I am in the extraordinary position of being able to draw from a great pool of authors that have books from major publishers and sold in quality bookstores throughout the country. If I had the space I could easily bring in another dozen. Most bookstores across the country would love to have this luxury. I feel that a big part of my job is to make as many people in the community aware as possible of this great resource available to them," said Rick Busby.
Busby explains that he hopes the Waco community will take advantage of this opportunity to interact with published authors and will realize that the Baylor Bookstore is a resource for all.
