More than 1,500 directors and teachers will gather July 10-12 at Baylor University for the 2003 Texas Baptist Church Weekday Education Conference. Registration will take place in the Ferrell Center, with classes held in various buildings throughout campus.
"Planting Seeds and Nurturing Growth" will be the central theme of the conference. During breakout sessions, educators will discuss such issues as child development and nurturing an overscheduled child, while sharing new teaching ideas.
Keynote speakers will include Lindsay Cofield, director of the Mission Service Corp.; Allen Mallory of Shelton State Community College of Alabama; Dr. Catherine West, pediatric retinal specialist; and Dr. Randall O'Brien, chair of Baylor's religion department.
Dr. Randy Wood, director of Baylor's Center for Christian Education, said the popular conference used to be for weekday educators from Baptist schools. Now in its 13th year, the conference has expanded to include all denominational education programs.
