A Mammoth Day at Mayborn

Celebrate Mammoth Day at the Mayborn Museum Complex on the Baylor University campus Thursday, Sept. 4.
The day begins at 10 a.m. with showings throughout the day of the DVD, Mammoths of Waco.
From 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. artist Lee Jamison will be at the museum to discuss and sign the new life-size mural painting of a Columbian Mammoth. Lee will also be giving out post cards of the mural to take home.
Jill Barrow, author of the new book, Mammoths in Waco: Exploring the Mystery, also will be at the museum Thursday. Visitors will have the opportunity to have their books signed by Barrow in the museum store between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Following the book signing, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., the Special Resource Study Team from the National Park Service will hold the second public hearing on the Waco Mammoth Site in the SBC Theater.
The Mayborn Museum Complex is located on the Baylor campus at 1300 S. University Parks Dr. in Waco. The museum offers natural and cultural history exhibits both indoors and outdoors, and 16 hands-on discovery rooms with various themes for visitors of all ages to engage, explore and enjoy.
