Baylor to Hold Varied Operating Hours for Holidays

Baylor University offices and campus facilities will vary their regular operating hours during the Christmas and New Year's holidays. University administrative offices, with the exception of the development office and other essential services, will be closed for the Christmas break Dec. 23-Jan. 1.

The development office will be staffed through Dec. 22 and on Dec. 26-29 for those who wish to make year-end contributions to the university. The office can be reached at (254) 710-2561.

Moody Memorial Library and Jesse H. Jones Library began holiday hours on Dec. 18. The libraries will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Dec.18-22, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Dec. 27-29, and 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Jan. 2-5. The libraries will be closed Dec. 23-26 for the Christmas holidays, Dec. 30-Jan. 1 for the New Years holidays, and Jan. 6-7, before resuming normal operating hours on Monday, Jan. 8, the first day of spring classes.

Baylor's special collections libraries also will be closed for the holidays. Armstrong Browning Library will be closed from Dec. 23-Jan. 1, and the Baylor Collections of Political Materials in the Poage Legislative Library will be closed from Dec. 20-Jan. 1. The Texas Collection will be closed Dec. 23-Jan. 1. All special collections will resume normal operating hours on Jan. 2.

The Baylor Law Library will be closed from Dec. 23-26 and Dec. 29-Jan. 1. The law library will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Dec. 27-28 and will resume normal operating hours on Jan. 2.

Baylor residence halls are closed and will re-open on Jan. 2 at 9 a.m. for women participating in sorority recruitment. Residence halls will open for all residents Jan. 3 at 8 a.m. All floors in the Bill Daniel Student Center will be closed Dec. 23-Jan. 1. The mailroom on the first floor will be accessible from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Dec. 23 and Dec. 26-30. Normal operating hours will resume Jan. 2.

The Fifth Street/Bookstore Parking Garage will be closed temporarily beginning Sunday, Dec. 17, and will reopen on Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2007, as residence halls reopen to students.

Baylor officials say that Brooks Village construction crews will be using the parking garage ramp during the closed period.

With the exception of the pool, the McLane Student Life Center (SLC) will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. through Dec. 22 and closed Dec. 23-Jan. 1. The SLC will be open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Jan. 2-5, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Jan. 6, and 4 p.m. to midnight on Jan. 7, before resuming normal operating hours on Monday, Jan. 8.

The Mayborn Museum Complex will be open throughout the holidays, closed only on Dec. 24-25 and Jan. 1.

The Baylor Pharmacy will be closed from Dec. 15-Jan. 1, re-opening at 8 a.m. on Jan. 2. The Baylor Bookstore will close at 4 p.m. Friday, Dec. 22, and will be closed Dec. 23-25 and Dec. 31-Jan. 1.

The Wiethorn Visitor's Center will be closed from Dec. 23 through Jan. 1.
