Baylor University students will step out into the Waco community for the university's bi-annual day of service, Steppin' Out, from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2.
Student organizations will form teams to work on various projects, including house painting, ground maintenance and yard work and nursing home visits. According to Anna Huff, internal recruitment chair for the Steppin' Out steering committee, approximately 2,500 individuals are expected to participate.
"Steppin' Out is such a great way to serve and to be involved in the Waco community," Huff said. "Students really benefit from participating."
A celebration of service will follow the day's events at 5 p.m. at Fountain Mall on the Baylor campus. Food, which has been donated by local businesses, will be served. Also, inflatable games and live music will be provided for Steppin' Out participants.
