Ted And Lee To Perform At Chapel

Theater duo Ted (Swartz) and Lee (Eshleman) will perform the third play in their "The Creation Chronicles" trilogy at 10 and 11 a.m. during Chapel Wednesday, Sept. 18, in Waco Hall on the Baylor University campus.
The duo's newest production is based on Old Testament literature and opens with a scene from Genesis: the creation of the earth, the sky and all things.
Touring coast-to-coast for a decade with their humorous theatre productions, Swartz and Eshleman's chronicles are told by Biblical characters with a few flourishes of detail added. In the play, the actors hop from character to character and through eons of time to cover Genesis, the Exodus, the call of Abraham, kings, prophets, the Psalms and advent.
Actor-writers Swartz and Eshleman started writing comedy sketches in 1987 while Swartz pursued his seminary degree and Eshleman did graphic design at Eastern Mennonite University in Harrisonburg, Va. Initially the work was based on foibles and imbalances to be found in contemporary life. It wasn't until later that the duo looked to the Bible for source material and created their internationally known sophomore show FISH-EYES.
