Women's Legal Society to Discuss Career Challenges

Two Dallas attorneys will speak about challenges facing women who practice law at a 5 p.m. meeting of the Baylor Law School Women's Legal Society on Wednesday, April 5, in Room 236 at the Sheila and Walter Umphrey Law Center. The program is free and open to the public.
The speakers will be Kimberly Elkjer, who graduated from Baylor Law School in 1991, and Tonya Moffat Ramsey, a 1998 Baylor law graduate.
Elkjer practices in the areas of complex commercial litigation, intellectual property litigation, general corporate disputes and appellate work. She has represented large and mid-size corporate clients, including manufacturers and distributors and clients in the oil and gas and banking industries. Elkjer works for Scheef & Stone, L.L.P., as well as her own law firm, The Law Offices of Kimberly Elkjer.
Ramsey is an attorney with Vinson & Elkins, LLP and her practice includes all aspects of insolvency and reorganization work, including debtor/creditor relationships as well as trustee representation. She recently co-authored "Legal Implications of an Oil and Gas Bankruptcy" and has been listed as a "Texas Rising Star" in bankruptcy law.
