Mariachi music, colorful piñatas and savory food will fill the banks of Waco Creek during Baylor University's annual Fiesta on the River celebration at 7 p.m. tomorrow in Minglewood Bowl.

Co-sponsored by the Place 2BU and Baylor's Hispanic Student Association, Baylor's Fiesta tradition began in 1988 and is patterned after San Antonio's long-standing annual celebration. All of the evening's activities and food center on Hispanic living to bring students a true cultural experience.

The evening's events will feature authentic Hispanic entertainment, including piñatas, mariachis and various games. Student organizations will sponsor booths with everything from Frito pie to caramel apples and activities such as Plinko and cookie decorating. Fajitas also will be available for $1.

Place 2BU, sponsored by the division of student life, aims to provide free on-campus entertainment for Baylor students and increase school spirit. Additional Place 2BU events for spring semester include the ISSA Culture Show and BYX Island Party.
