The winners of the 49th annual All University Sing were announced Saturday, Feb. 23, in Waco Hall. Delta Delta Delta received first place, Kappa Alpha Theta placed second and Kappa Kappa Gamma placed third.
Kappa Alpha Theta's act, based on a coffee shop montage, placed for the first time in the sorority's history with The Greasy Spoon.
All three groups will perform at Pigskin Review during Homecoming Weekend next fall. Chi Omega, Kappa Omega Tau, Kappa Sigma, Pi Beta Phi and Sigma Chi also will perform.
People's Choice Awards, which were voted on by the audience at each performance, also were awarded. Delta Delta Delta's act Ease on Down the Road, inspired by The Wizard of Oz, won two People's Choice Awards for best costumes and best theme development. Third-place winners, Kappa Kappa Gamma, received the award for best choreography and best backdrop for their New Orleans-themed act, Let the Good Times Roll. Chi Omega also received the award for best music for Diva's Live.
All University Sing is held each spring semester and features student groups who perform an original musical act. A national panel of 12 judges, with equal representation from theater, dance and student work backgrounds, reviews each act.
