Baylor Closed Monday In Honor of MLK Jr. Day

Baylor University will be closed and no classes will be held Monday, Jan. 16, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Moody Memorial Library and Jesse H. Jones Library will be closed Monday. The libraries will resume regular operating hours at 7 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 17. Armstrong Browning Library and The Texas Collection also will be closed Monday.

The McLane Student Life Center will be open from 1 p.m. to midnight on Monday.

The Mayborn Museum Complex will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday. The museum will feature a Martin Luther King Jr. exhibit called "The Road to the Promised Land: Martin Luther King Jr. and The Civil Rights Movement - Contemporary Perspectives." The exhibit consists of 20 framed panels that survey the Civil Rights Movement from the mid-1950s, including the Montgomery bus boycott of 1955, to the present day. "The Road to the Promised Land" will be on display through Jan. 26. The Mayborn Museum is located at 1300 S. University Parks Drive on the Baylor campus. The Association of Black Students at Baylor will hold an "MLK Celebration" at 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 23, in Barfield Drawing Room on the second floor of the Bill Daniel Student Center.
