Baylor Celebrates Christmas Across Campus

December 12, 2005

The campus of Baylor University is alive with the Christmas spirit. Baylor faculty, staff, students and the community have been celebrating the season during many special events held on campus during December.
On Dec. 1, the university family celebrated "Christmas on Fifth Street," which included the traditional KOT Christmas tree lighting on Burleson Quadrangle, as well as concerts, a live nativity scene, pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus, caroling, cider and hot chocolate, and much more.
The next day, Santa and Mrs. Claus returned to Baylor to visit with and give gifts to more than 500 area children at the 13th annual Santa's Workshop at the McLane Student Life Center. Later that afternoon, faculty, staff and students enjoyed homemade Christmas cookies and hot chocolate at the monthly Cookies and Blossoms holiday party held on Burleson Quadrangle.
On Dec. 6, faculty and staff gathered for "A BU Christmas: Texas-Style!" at the Ferrell Center. The dinner and entertainment event also was a fundraiser for "A Storybook Christmas," a community initiative that provides new books for children.
