Author Brennan Manning will speak to students during Chapel at 10 and 11 a.m. Wednesday in Waco Hall on the Baylor University campus.
Manning entered into "an intimate, heartfelt relationship with Jesus" in 1956 and was ordained to the Franciscan priesthood in 1963. Through his life's journey, even while contemplating in the Zaragoza desert, Manning has held his belief that, "Once you come to know the love of Jesus Christ, nothing else in the world will seem as beautiful or desirable."
After overcoming alcoholism, he began writing and speaking nationwide about God's unconditional love in Christ. He has written 10 book including Ruthless Trust, The Ragamuffin Gospel and Reflections for Ragamuffins. Copies of Manning's books will be available for purchase on Wednesday.
Manning travels widely as he continues to preach and write, encouraging men and women everywhere to accept God's gift of unconditional love in Christ.
