Preserving Family Heirlooms Topic Of Aug. 4 Village Event

Central Texans interested in preserving family heirlooms are invited to a special event from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, at the Gov. Bill and Vara Daniel Historic Village on the Baylor University campus.
"Preserving Family Heirlooms," led by Steve Williams, collection manager for the Mayborn Museum Complex, includes hands-on activities and lectures that will explore the kinds of decay that threaten collections. Participants also will be shown how family heirlooms can be preserved for future generations.
The Gov. Bill and Vara Daniel Historic Village is located off University Parks Drive behind the Hughes-Dillard Alumni Center.
Admission is $3 for adults, $2 for senior citizens and $1 for children ages 5-15. Baylor students, faculty and staff, and children under 5, are admitted free. For more information, call 710-1160.
