Baylor University officials have announced that four staff members in the human resources division -- Richard Amos, Jaffus Hardrick, Claude Ervin and Ashley Thornton -- recently have been promoted to new positions.
"These promotions recognize the abilities and performance of each of these individuals," said Marilyn Crone, vice president for human resources. "Claude moving to this special role will allow us to take advantage of his wisdom and vast experience to focus on several crucial issues prior to his retirement in June 2002. I deeply respect and appreciate Claude for the more than 20 years he has already invested at Baylor."
Amos, who has served as director of compensation and benefits since 1999, has been named assistant vice president and director of the department of compensation and benefits. Hardrick, who has held the title of assistant director of personnel services and AA/EEO officer since 1995, will assume the title of assistant vice president and director of the department of personnel services and AA/EEO. He received his bachelor's degree from the University of Southwestern Louisiana, his master's degree from Prairie View A&M University and is pursuing his doctor of education degree (A.B.D.) at Baylor. Hardrick previously worked for the McLennan County Youth Collaboration/Communities in Schools and Educators Credit Union.
