Baylor Baseball Sendoff Set For Wednesday

The 2005 NCAA Waco Super Regional champion Baylor Bears will depart for Omaha, Neb., on Wednesday to compete in the NCAA College World Series. Prior to their departure, fans are invited to send the Bears off at Baylor Ballpark.

The short celebration will begin at 3:30 p.m. with an introduction from Interim President Bill Underwood. Speeches from some of the Bears and Head Coach Steve Smith will follow. The team is scheduled to depart the Turner Riverfront Athletic Complex at approximately 4 p.m.

Baylor will open play on Saturday, June 18, when they face Texas at 6 p.m. The game will be televised nationally by ESPN and ESPNHD. This is the first time since 1978 that the Bears have made it to Omaha.
