Wilson-Jones Memorial Garden To Be Dedicated Friday

May 11, 2005

Baylor University will dedicate the Wilson-Jones Memorial Garden, the 2005 Senior Class Gift, at 3:30 p.m. Friday, May 13, in the garden adjacent to the Marrs McLean Gymnasium on Fifth Street.

The 2005 senior class chose to fund this memorial prayer and meditation garden in honor of beloved professors Dr. F. Ray Wilson and Professor Robert B. Jones, both of whom had been recipients of the Collins Outstanding Professor Award given by the Senior Class.

Wilson, who was professor of biology, director of the Honors Program and Master Teacher, died July 10 while on a study-abroad program in Rome. He was 62.

Jones, a senior lecturer in management and entrepreneur-in-residence at Baylor's Hankamer School of Business, died July 13. He was 52.
