Music Dean's Honor Concert Set For April 7

Twelve of Baylor University's most notable student musicians will perform at the Dean's Honor Concert at 8 p.m. Saturday, April 7, in Jones Concert Hall. These musicians have been selected by School of Music faculty on the strength of their performances during the current academic year.
The concert will open with clarinetist Emily Codieck and percussionist Kenneth Schell playing Libby Larson's Corker. A brass trio comprised of hornist Stephen Aaron, trombonist Cary Porter and tubist Bradley Coker will present Triangles by John Stevens.
Tetralogue, by Baylor's late professor of composition, Richard Willis, will be performed by the Baylor Saxophone Quartet. Its members are César Eli González, Tim Linley, Joey Reséndez and Raymond Sánchez.
Soprano Emily Graczyk will sing a set of three songs by Dominick Argento, "Spring," "Sleep" and "Winter," followed by "Obéissons quand leur voix appelle" from Jules Massenet's opera Manon. Her accompanist is Jeremy Wood.
Sergei Prokofieff's Piano Sonata No. 1 in F minor will be performed by April Kwon.
Concluding the concert will be cellist Arístides Rivas, who will play the string part in David Popper's Hungarian Rhapsody. He will be accompanied by David Anderson.
