About 200 members of the class of 1951 will receive their "Golden Anniversary" diplomas and certificates as the Baylor University Alumni Association hosts its annual Heritage Club meeting Sunday through Tuesday, March 18-20, for alumni who graduated from Baylor at least 50 years ago.
The Heritage Club meets each spring for the three-day event. Registration will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Hughes-Dillard Alumni Center. The evening will close with a concert featuring Baylor ShowTime!, the Men's Glee Club and the Baylor Jazz Ensemble.
A continental breakfast will be held from 8 to 9 a.m. Monday at the Waco Convention Center. The morning meeting will feature Dr. Paul Powell, dean of George W. Truett Theological Seminary; Jon Rolph, student body president; and Baylor President Robert B. Sloan Jr. Monday's events will culminate with the president's dinner at 7 p.m. at the Waco Convention Center, hosted by Sloan and his wife, Sue.
On Tuesday, a continental breakfast will be held from 8 to 9 a.m. in the fellowship hall of Columbus Avenue Baptist Church. The morning program will feature guest speakers, a sing-along and a panel discussion. The event will conclude with a noon luncheon at the Waco Convention Center.
